This shawl is an original design created for Biscotte Yarns, worked in three pieces: its base is composed of two triangles crowned with a diamond. Both triangles are worked separately and are assembled together when knitting the third part.
While working on this shawl, I remembered a specific project from my studies in art history and this is how the name of Triptyque (french word for triptych) came to mind.
On Wikipedia, a triptych is defined by something composed or presented in three parts or sections. In the field of the fine arts, the triptych is defined as “a work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels that are hinged together and can be folded shut or displayed open“. Enjoy knitting your Triptyque shawl!
